Deeply concerned about the excesses stemming from Christian extremist "faith teachers," Dr. Charles Farah, Jr., had written an excellent paper on "Faith vs. Presumption," which had been published by the Presbyterian Charismatic Communion. With the encouragement of friends, Dr. Farah later enlarged his thoughts into this book, a book on "balance." There are so many excesses in the Christian world in the area of faith. They range all the way from no faith at all to the handling of snakes. By far the most serious extreme centers around the "confess it and it's yours" teaching - without counting the cost, meeting the conditions, or taking into account the larger purpose of the sovereignty of God. Dr. Farah, one of the few men with the scholarship, the insight and personal experience necessary to write such a book, was even further qualified by virtue of the fact that he lived in Tulsa, the home of the strongest teaching on the subject.
